Hecato says, I can teach you a love potion made without drugs, herbs, or special spell – if you would be loved, love. ~ Seneca
L.O.V.E.
The Bible says “God is love”. How beautiful is that? What would our world look like if God was spelled L.O.V.E.? Would we stop using him as a rationale for judging others? Would we stop lobbying government for policies and laws that further marginalize those who most need our help in society? In our world? Would L.O.V.E. be a clear call for action that puts people ahead of dogma? That admires compassion over wealth and power?
Our Lens
If L.O.V.E. was the lens through which we see our needy world, would we close the loopholes that allow the richest of the rich to avoid taxes while the poor go hungry? Would we create a society that values its weakest members as much as the most powerful members because L.O.V.E.’s compassion knows no boundaries? Because L.O.V.E. has no boundaries?
To The World
If L.O.V.E. governed our actions, would we choose different priorities? L.O.V.E. doesn’t weaponize. Or judge. L.O.V.E. is not God’s fist raised against the secular world, but rather L.O.V.E. is God’s hand proffered to a hurting world.
L.O.V.E.’s Judgement
You are loved.
You are worthy.
You matter.
L.O.V.E.’s Mandate
For I was hungry, and ye gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in, naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me…I say unto you, inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, even these least, ye did it unto me.
L.O.V.E. Matthew 25: 35-37, 40
