I’m passionate about lifelong learning—not the kind that earns degrees (though I have those: English B.A. and a Master’s in Special Education), but the kind that happens through exploration.

My experience as a teacher, followed by ten years as a Vice-Principal taught me as much about myself as it did about education. Working with students and adults, I learned which mental models help us thrive and which hold us back.

These days, you’ll find me camping in the mountains of northern British Columbia or reflecting on the “wild places” of culture and society. Both landscapes—physical and metaphorical—give me endless material to think and write about.

I’m also working on a novel series, and I share that journey here too: the craft, the struggles, the small victories. Wind Sand Stars weaves together these three threads—mental models from nature, reflections from the mountains and the world, and stories about the stories I’m writing. They’re all part of the same tapestry: a life lived with curiosity, intention, and wonder.

My Why

I left the classroom to write, wander, and wonder full-time. I’m drawn to patterns—in landscape, in human behavior, in nature, in the structure of a good story. Wind Sand Stars is where I share what I’m learning about resilience, patterns, beauty, and living with intention.

Currently

I’m writing a novel series. Traveling roads less traveled. Exploring mental models through nature. Reading everything I can get my hands on.
